The Kosovo Philately, in the framework of folk clothing themes, presents to you Medvegja's women's costumes.  The color symmetry in perfect harmony and shape produced with refined  patience makes the women's costumes of Medvegja a unique one in all Albanian lands.  The different figures in these costumes certainly have a pagan meaning.  Thus the moon, the sun, the stars, the cob, and so on unequivocally that can be related to the desire for light and life, respectively, health and prosperity.  The Medvegja women's costumes consist of two main types:

The first is the one with which the girl goes out of her father's house, and consist of a long shirt, made of white linen fabric, woven in the loom and stylized with embroidery, over which is worn a multicolored apron in which the red color dominates and with a belt woven in the loom and stylized with beads.  This clothing is used only once, on the day the girl marries and has similarities with the outfits of other areas of Kosovo.

The second one is more distinctive, differs from outfits of other Albanian areas which includes embellishments such as: red beaded headscarf and stylized with different astral figures, money hat, tassels in various strong colors, and jewelry named "shive", made with beads and hair strings which are placed over the ears and released as two forelocks.  The white shirt made of linen fabric, sewn with beads at the front of the chest and neck embroidered on the hands part, starting from arm to palm.  Beaded vest, stylized with beaded figures with a perfect symmetry and rich colors.  The belt woven in the loom or beaded and loom woven headscarf masterly embroidered with different colors placed on the front part of the waist.  Black baggy trousers made of knitted wool and folded on the back, which can be considered as a special feature of this clothing, and on the front part is worn the apron that falls to the knees, also woven in the loom and with various colors depending on the age of the person wearing it.  Knitted needle socks in various colors made of spun yarn, while over them are put the opanak footwear made of the skin of any livestock.
