China - Ethnic Groups in China 1999

According to Chinese Folk Culture, "Fu," "Lu," "Shou," "Xi," and "Cai," are collectively known as Five Blessings. As stated in Chinese classic book "Han Feizi"

"Fu" is Happiness.
"Lu" originally referred to salary and was later extended to mean Wealth and Fame.
"Shou" is Longevity, the most important among the Five Blessings.
"Xi" is Joy, deriving from wedding, birthday, and other joyful things.
"Fortune" refers to Good Luck and Financial Wealth.
If one obtains all the Five Blessings, life is all Smiles.
